Job Description:

This role serves as project manager, department relations coordinator, and a point of contact between the Health and Wellbeing portfolio and Student Life Marketing & Strategic Communications’ central services to assist in ensuring consistency in requests, timelines, and deliverables focused on achieving both short and long-term organizational goals.

Strategic coordination of the production and presentation of communication and marketing materials production and presentation aimed at educating, influencing health behaviors, and increasing participation in utilization of programs and services

  • Oversee all marketing materials and campaigns for the Health & Wellbeing units, ensuring effective promotion of services, programs, and initiatives within the UF brand standards.
  • Work closely with the Division of Student Life (DSL) Marketing & Strategic Communications and represent the Health and Wellbeing (HAWK) marketing team in cross-functional groups to develop integrated marketing strategies. Collaborate consistently with other departments, ambassadors, and unit leaders to create innovative and effective marketing approaches.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract new audiences while retaining existing ones, ensuring the communication of relevant and engaging messaging across various channels.
  • Observe higher education trends that may impact the organization, providing recommendations to enhance university and program image based on trends.

 Leadership, market research and reporting

  • Lead market research efforts to assess the viability and effectiveness of current and future products and services, using insights to refine strategies and enhance marketing outreach.
  • Coordinate the execution of marketing strategies, ensuring campaigns run smoothly, deadlines are met, and staff fulfill their responsibilities. Analyze data and media coverage to evaluate the success of campaigns and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide updates to senior leadership and program coordinators on the progress and performance of marketing campaigns. Report on key metrics, outcomes, and improvements related to communications efforts.

Assess communication and marketing efforts for success

  • Collect and analyze marketing material feedback and campaign results; propose new ideas or adjustments to improve brand visibility, exposure, and audience engagement. Stay informed about emerging trends and incorporate new strategies to enhance overall marketing efforts.

Manage and assist with communicating to external vendors.

  • Develop and maintain vendor relations to assist with building and protecting the UF, Division of Student Life, and Health and Wellbeing portfolio brand standards.
  • Prepare artwork files for print and meeting vendor specifications
  • Responsible for purchasing various marketing materials (e.g., print materials, signage, environmental design materials) with third party vendors

Perform other related functions and projects.

  • Serve on Division of Student Life or University of Florida committees as needed
  • Serve as a member of the Student Life Marketing Event Coverage Team as needed
  • Other duties related to marketing and communications or similar tasks, as needed or assigned.
Expected Salary:

$67,200

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations/communications, graphic design, or advertising
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and managing health communication campaigns, social marketing strategies, content creation, and digital engagement.
  • Project management experience; ability to manage multiple projects and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in managing printing processes and pre-press production requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in brand management 

SKILLS

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and Canvas
  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media platforms
  • Demonstrated experience in website design
  • Communication skills (verbal and written); demonstrated proficiency and excellence in writing and editing
  • Highly proficient in print-related applications and techniques
  • Proficiency in data collection and assessment tools such as Qualtrics
  • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Ability to analyze problems, conduct research, and implement solutions.
  • Supervisory and organizational skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders, on campus and in the community.

Additional Information

SUPERVISION

  • Position functions with initiative and sound judgment under general direction from the supervisor.  Direction is rendered through on-going input and feedback via regular meetings, established goals, and regular performance reviews.
  • May provide direct and indirect supervision of part-time, and student staff within the area of responsibility.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule may be required (including occasional evenings and weekends) depending on the demands of the position and/or department needs.
