Job Description:

This highly professional administrative position is assigned to the Office of Administrative Affairs at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville (UF COM-J). The Office of Administrative Affairs has campus wide responsibility for UF academic human resources administration and faculty affairs.  The HR Generalist II works closely with faculty, staff, and administrators to provide expert HR services, enhancing employee engagement, productivity, and overall satisfaction. The HR Generalist is a member of a highly collaborative and dynamic administrative affairs team and serves as primary point of contact for assigned clinical department faculty, management, and staff concerning human resources policies, procedures, and practices for UF COM-J. 

HR Management/Transactions

  • Manage and process a wide range of HR transactions throughout the faculty lifecycle, including hiring request approvals, new hires, job reclassifications, special pay increases (SPIs), changes in FTE (Full-Time Equivalent), administrative supplements, additional compensation, position description updates, supervisor changes, leaves of absence, terminations, and leave cash outs.
  • Communicate with department administrators and managers, serving as a liaison for HR processes within assigned clinical departments.

Recruitment

  • Responsible for managing faculty and/or TEAMS recruitment (advertisements, positions and database records) within the assigned clinical departments. 
  • Ensures approved positions, posted requisitions and requests to fill positions are consistent with the needs of the department.
  • Understand and interprets government, state and university laws in relation to recruitment requirements and ensures compliance.
  • Oversee offboarding procedures for departing faculty, ensuring the completion of required paperwork and transactions.

Database and File Management

  • Will manage all records within the department assignment. 
  • Ensure salary ranges, titles, position numbers, education and all related employment data is complete and accurate. 
  • Will manage records consistently to ensure compliance and completion (when applicable) of certifications, licensure, and education are current and properly reflected for all specialties and sub specialties.

Expected Salary: Starting Salary is $58,000 - $60,000 . The UF offers a comprehensive benefits package, retirement, and time-off programs, designed to support your well-being and success. A hybrid work structure is available.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • An energetic and dynamic professional who is extremely organized and able to effectively prioritize, multi task and exude calm under pressure
  • An excellent communicator - both oral and written – who can effectively contribute to a team and works collaboratively towards solutions.
  • A self-starter who is able to exercise good judgement and solid decision making at all times, including the ability to competently recognize when issues require escalation or outside resources.

SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), HRCI Professional of Human Resources (PHR), or HRCI Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR).
