Manage the university-wide OCCMED Program, serving as EH&S liaison with UF OCCMED Services, UFHR, and UF colleges and departments to establish procedures that govern safety and health precautions related to occupational exposure.
Interpret the program’s covered job duties within UF’s work environment and help determine where health assessments and emergency protocols are required.
Work with college and department administrators, human resource (HR) representatives, department supervisors, employees, students, and volunteers regarding the OCCMED Program. Disseminate information regarding program requirements for covered job duties and related health assessments.
Recommend and participate in health assessment focus groups and the OCCMED Advisory Board Committee to improve procedures for assuring compliance with OCCMED requirements.
Recommend new medical monitoring programs and participate in developing and documenting such. Provide health assessment status data for compliance programs.
Works closely with the EH&S information technology (IT) professional on web design and maintenance to assure EH&S follows best practice to present current and accurate safety information to the UF community. Use standardized Content Management System (CMS) and resource formatting for consistent presentation of safety material and incorporates theming and branding. Work closely with EH&S training support for UF as the OCCMED and training models are similar.
Oversee the OPS OCCMED Assistant position and bloodborne pathogen program (BBP) to include time approval, training and vaccination form reporting and sharps/exposure log.
Provide health assessment compliance reports to the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and/or other departments upon request.
Complete other risk management duties as assigned by the Associate Director.
Work hours: Monday through Friday, 08:00 AM to 05:00 PM
