The University of Florida, College of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM), actively seeks a motivated and experienced individual to join us as the Assistant Director of Health Care and Academic Administration. As a leader, the Assistant Director will drive strategic initiatives, supervise administrative staff, and support faculty development to advance undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education (UME, GME, CME). This position demands exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills to create an environment fostering collaboration, positive office morale, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Education Programs Management and Leadership
- Collaborate with the Vice Chair of Education to implement new and existing educational initiatives, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards.
- Provide oversight and leadership to the education team, including support for Program Directors, coordinators, and faculty in executing the department’s academic missions.
- Monitor budgets related to educational programs in collaboration with finance administration.
- Develop professional growth opportunities for education staff and enhance processes to support evolving needs in medical education.
Administrative Team Management and Office Leadership
- Lead and oversee the administrative staff to ensure cohesive support across the department.
- Collaborate with leaders to design and implement professional development initiatives, fostering career growth for staff that align with organizational goals.
- Organize staff retreats, meetings, and initiatives to maintain a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Oversee office operations, space allocation, and resource planning to optimize support for faculty and department activities.
- Manage administrative budgets and streamline workflows to improve department productivity.
Faculty Development
- Lead the department's Promotion and Tenure (P&T) processes, ensuring adherence to university guidelines.
- Collaborate with faculty leaders to streamline evaluation timelines and procedures, supporting faculty career advancement.
- Manage data collection, scheduling, and communication efforts for annual faculty evaluations and award nominations.
- Partner with faculty development teams to create initiatives that enhance faculty advancement and recognition.
Collaborative Project Strategy and Oversight
- Design and implement project plans, timelines, deliverables, and post-implementation evaluations.
- Proactively manage challenges, develop contingency strategies, and deliver reports on project milestones.
- Ensure seamless project execution, integration, and follow-up to drive success.
- Support other initiatives and responsibilities that align with the department’s mission and values.

Expected Salary: |
The annual salary ranges between $95,000 - $110,000 and is commensurate with education and experience.
