Job Description:

Develop department integrated communication strategies. Design and create communication products (publications, press releases, brochures, flyers, newsletters, e-marketing, videos, and other promotional/marketing materials) for internal and external audiences for the department and departmental programs and projects. Use current literature and best practices to inform design and messaging standards for communication products.

Design and manage the department website, as well as program/project websites as time permits. Ensure the department remains in compliance with branding, accessibility, and other policies determined by the University and IFAS.

Manage the social media presence for the department. Conduct audience analyses to use in conjunction with current trends to inform the development and implementation of branding and communications programs.

Collaborate with the AEC Marketing Committee, IFAS Communications Services, and other University communicators to develop and execute a departmental marketing and communication plan. Develop and maintain the department’s branding efforts. Recommend branding and marketing strategies for the department as a unit and for various faculty-led departmental programs and projects.

Maintain communication with department alumni. Collect contact information of department graduates and work with the CALS and UF alumni offices along with the IFAS Advancement Office to maintain alumni database. Use current literature, demographic trends, and best practices to effectively communicate with and engage alumni.

Assist faculty and staff in writing fact sheets and research manuscripts related to strategic communication, branding, social media, and other marketing and communication efforts of the department.

Photography and video support at department events as needed to provide media coverage.

Supervise student interns as needed to assist with department media projects. Other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$46,000-$48,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and five years of relevant experience. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced digital media computer skills, print and electronic design skills, data management, teamwork, and personal communication skills.
