Join Us in Shaping Healthcare Education: Become a Standardized Patient!
Are you passionate about contributing to the education of future healthcare professionals? Do you have an interest in healthcare, acting, or teaching? The Dr. Angelo and Alberta Anaclerio Learning and Assessment Center (ALAC), an integral part of the College of Medicine, invites individuals aged 18 and above to embark on a unique role as Standardized Patients (SPs).
About ALAC
The Dr. Angelo and Alberta Anaclerio Learning and Assessment Center (ALAC) is a dynamic teaching facility that plays a crucial role in training the next generation of healthcare providers. As a Standardized Patient, you'll step into the shoes of diverse individuals, portraying a range of behaviors, emotions, and medical symptoms. Through immersive role-play, you'll aid health professions students in developing their clinical and interpersonal skills during simulated medical encounters conducted within our cutting-edge center.
More About This Role
As a Standardized Patient, you'll be interviewed and examined by students as part of their learning process. Your insightful evaluations of the students' performance, guided by faculty-provided standards, will contribute to their growth and proficiency.
We're seeking individuals who are enthusiastic and dedicated to learning about patients, various medical conditions and performance techniques from our Standardized Patient (SP) Educators. While healthcare, acting, or teaching experience is advantageous, it's not a requirement. What truly matters is your commitment to punctuality, reliability, and your willingness to collaborate seamlessly with the ALAC team, fellow SPs, and students.
With several SP positions available; there's room for you to make a significant impact in healthcare education while pursuing your own personal and professional goals.
Flexibility and Convenience
You'll have the opportunity to choose 4-hour blocks within the timings of 7:45 am - 12:15 pm and/or 12:45 pm - 5:00 pm, across weekdays (Monday through Friday). We operate on a part-time, as-needed basis based on student activities that occur throughout the year. Say goodbye to set schedules, shifts, and weekend or evening work - you'll work as your schedule allows.
Ready to Make a Difference?
By becoming a Standardized Patient, you'll not only aid in molding the future of healthcare but also gain a deeper understanding of healthcare practices. This role complements various lifestyles, making it an ideal fit whether you're passionate about education, healthcare, or simply looking to supplement your part-time endeavors.
