Job Description:

This Data Scientist III position is housed in the Department of Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy (POP), located in the College of Pharmacy. It supports ongoing research of POP faculty, Dr. Almut Winterstein and will be focused on data management, data curation, and data analysis, and reporting related to multiple research projects. The types of analyses typically employed range from simple descriptive to complex time-series, multi-level hierarchical, and multiple imputation models using clinical, survey, and claims data.

Duties Include:

  • Conduct statistical data analyses and develop relevant programs. Write statistical programming code for software such as SAS, R, Stata and participate in interpretation of results.
  • Develop analytical data sets including data duration, linkages, validations and cohort discovery.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and reporting for research projects and to meet funder reporting requirements.

Expected Salary:

$90,000-$100,000 commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and five years of experience; Master's Degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and three years of experience; Doctoral Degree in data science, statistics, bioinformatics, analytics, or similar field and one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Research experience strongly preferred.  Technical writing ability, and in-depth knowledge of MS Office strongly preferred.  Data analysis experience preferred. Proficient in query languages, in particular Structure Query Language (SQL) in SAS programming, and relevant statistical procedures. Experience with medical claims data.
