The Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, time-limited, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Research Assistant Scientist. Initial appointment is for 1 year, reappointment is anticipated based on performance and funding.
The faculty member will be expected to conduct research and development (R&D) on photonic integrated circuits (PIC) including, but not limited to pioneering, innovating, and prototyping.
- Optoelectronic component design/development/test
- Chip design and foundry engagements.
- Perform design technology co-optimization (DCTO)
- Perform photonic chip and device test.
- Perform data analysis.
- Synthesis or R&D result and prepare publications and dissemination material.
- Assemble and/or improve lab test environments.
- Identify and prepare applications to funding opportunities
- Mentor team/group members.
Support educational mission through class laboratory support and WFD activities for CHIPS-related grants.
