Job Description:
  • Assist with monitoring the financial viability and reporting of auxiliary-related activities, also known as Fee-for-Service Educational Activities (FSEA).
  • Review new FSEA applications and provide constructive feedback to ensure the operations are sound as well as compliant with university directives and federal policies.
  • Assist with the process of submitting new FSEA units to the university’s Auxiliary Advisory Committee.
  • Analyze current processes, recommend solutions to leadership, and support implementation.
  • Serve as a team member or lead on projects and services that enhance Auxiliary Accounting services and/or create new functions.
  • Manage daily interactions with departments and personnel regarding their questions, requests for guidance, and discussions on Auxiliary Accounting Topics to foster a collaborative culture.
  • software/databases, projects, and other departmental updates to ensure all entities are current.
  • Participate in on-site visits across the university and its related off-site locations to view operations, meet staff and faculty, and better advise on the FSEA’s path toward growth.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with key University, State, and Federal Agency stakeholders and colleagues to enhance relations and engagement through the distribution of clear and consistent communications.
  • Assist with processing FSEA/Auxiliary journals, collections, and other fiscal processes when directed.
  • Conduct financial statements and fiscal reviews for FSEAs and provide them with recommendations and guidance as needed.
  • Conduct other fiscal-related transactions throughout the year, including but not limited to general accounting and financial reporting processes and year-end processes.
  • Participate in the oversight of the monthly submission of sales tax, tourism development tax, and utility tax, as well as support the Tax Services Director in reviewing annual UBI submissions.
  • Review and provide recommendations on new FSEA applications to ensure they meet both operational and cost accounting compliance as well as that the proposed activities align with the University’s mission.
  • Support the annual Rate Review process for all FSEA departments and research service centers by providing information on compliance with Federal regulations and University guidelines.
  • Ensure that departmental documents and training materials are up to date and meet current standards set by the administration.
Expected Salary:

$65k - $75k

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

This position must be proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to analyze and solve problems and interpret and recommend solutions or changes.
