  • Communications and Graphic Design: Serve as the communications specialist for the Community Relations team, creating and managing a variety of marketing and communication materials, including newsletters, event collateral, and infographics. Collaborate with creative teams to ensure brand consistency, curate campus content, and support key projects like Gators Volunteer, UF Campaign for Charities, and Gator Day initiatives.
  • Social Media Management: Manage and strategize social media presence across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram to engage diverse audiences. Develop content, monitor engagement, amplify UF content, and analyze campaign effectiveness to drive growth and refine strategies.
  • Website Management: Serve as webmaster, overseeing the maintenance and updates of the GCR, UFCC, and Gators Volunteer webpages. Curate, develop, and post content to ensure websites are current, accessible, and aligned with external communication strategies and goals.
  • Event Support: Assist the GCR team in planning and executing events, managing both communications and logistics. Coordinate venue and vendor arrangements, handle registration, and oversee on-site setup and breakdown to ensure successful event delivery.
  • Constituent Outreach and Requests: Respond to constituent requests in coordination with Government and Community Relations team and help position the university as a regional resource through communications and event opportunities.
  • Operations and Project Management: Independently conduct general administrative functions and manage special projects.
Expected Salary:

Expected salary range is $53,000 - $65,000. Compensation will be commensurate with education and experience. The University of Florida provides a competitive suite of benefits.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience; or an Associate’s degree and six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design, marketing, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for developing marketing materials and infographics.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and creating content for multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn), with a demonstrated ability to grow engagement and analyze campaign effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) and basic HTML for web content updates and design, and experience in T4 and WordPress.
  • Strong project management skills with experience in event coordination, including managing logistics, vendors, and on-site operations.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency in messaging and branding.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to prioritize, exercise independent judgment, and work under pressure and tight timelines.
