Job Description:

Assist with the operation of Instrument systems in the lab to conduct tests on models and prototypes. Set up and calibrate equipment for various testing scenarios. Monitor and control test conditions, including airflow speed, temperature, pressure, etc. Collect and analyze data from experiments, ensuring accuracy and reliability.  Provide input and data for detailed reports and documentation of test results and methodologies.

Support the Maintenance of  facilities and equipment, assisting with performing routine inspections and repairs as needed. May help identifying opportunities for upgrades or modifications to instruments and equipment, based on their operational experience. This includes contributing to the development and maintenance of documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs),

Safety Protocols: Assist in Ensuring adherence to laboratory safety protocols, such as the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), proper handling of hazardous materials, and emergency response procedures. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices in the laboratory. Assist in the training of new staff and interns on Instrument operations.

Assist engineers and researchers to execute test plans. Contribute to discussions on experimental design, test procedures, and potential improvements to the lab's capabilities to maintain the facility's competitive edge and support the overall research and development efforts.

Expected Salary:

$19.23 - $20.00/hr; commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and one year of relevant experience. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

•           Previous experience in wind tunnel and other instrument operations or a similar testing environment.
•           Understanding of fluid dynamics and aerodynamics principles.
•           Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
•           Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•           Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
•           Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
•           Physical Requirements:
o          Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
o          Comfortable working in a controlled laboratory environment with varying noise and temperature levels.
