Job Description:

The University of Florida Levin College of Law seeks applications for an Director of Admissions. The Director for Admissions oversees and participates in all aspects of student recruitment and outreach efforts for the Levin College of Law. Working closely with the Office of Messaging and Outreach and the Office of Career and Professional Development, this position leads the College’s J.D. recruitment, yield, and incoming class retention strategies. Additionally, the Director serves as the primary resource for applicants and assists in the review of application files.

 

Working with the Assistant Dean for Admissions, the Director for Admissions develops, coordinates, and implements a data-driven recruitment/outreach strategy with regular monitoring of outcomes designed to ensure that the College meets its applicant pool goals and ultimately enrolls a class meeting various targets set by the Dean and Assistant Dean.  The development, coordination, implementation, and monitoring of this strategy requires the creation, use and tracking of email campaigns and social media in coordination with the Office of Messaging and Outreach; the deployment of alumni; and the organization of on-campus and virtual recruitment events (such as informational workshops, pipeline programs, and admitted student days) and travel to recruitment fairs, individual speaking presentations, and related events off-campus.

Responsible for the end-to-end experience for applicants, from the pre-application stage through orientation. This includes tracking applicants at the various stages of the application process, managing follow-up, and engaging applicants at all stages of the process. The Director for Admissions therefore uses the admissions database, LSAC Unite, to retrieve data from the Law School Admissions Council in order to assist in recruiting prospective applicants; creates and runs reports to track recruiting event participants and responses to outreach campaigns; assists in the oversight of the application cycle; oversees and implements distribution of enrolled and non-enrolled student surveys and collects, analyzes, and summarizes survey data; and runs ad hoc reports as needed to make data-driven decisions.

The Levin College of Law is growing and changing daily. All College of Law community members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in furtherance of our strategic goals.

Salary $80,500 - $85,000 Annually; Commensurate with experience.
Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

J.D. degree preferred.

Experience in graduate, or law school admissions strongly preferred.

Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.

Work independently with many different law school and university constituencies, be self-motivated and creative, and have strong problem-solving skills.

Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills and be extremely detail oriented. 

Be a team player who will bring a positive and enthusiastic presence to a collegial environment.
