Job Description:

PrismaP is a multi-disciplinary center focused on developing and providing sustainable support and leadership for transformative medical AI research, education, and clinical applications to advance patients' health in critical and acute care medicine. PrismaP addresses an unprecedented opportunity for world-leading ambient, immersive, and artificial intelligence (AI2) research and innovation to transform the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment for critically and acutely ill patients using the multimodal clinical and research data and resources from UF Health (UFH), one of Florida’s largest health care systems.

We are looking for motivated and qualified graduate students to join our team and contribute to design and build new sensor hardware using Thunderboard, RGB Cameras, Depth Cameras, LiDAR Camera, Biosensor, and Raspberry Pi, enabling real-time data streaming directly to a cloud platform (UF HiPerGator). This initiative aims to enhance patient monitoring and predictive analytics in critical care settings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Technical Specifications and Sensor Requirements:
        Determine the technical specifications and requirements for sensors, including data accuracy, frequency of data collection, connectivity options, and power needs.
  2. System Architecture Design:
        Design the sensor system architecture, incorporating a variety of sensors for sensing capabilities and Raspberry Pi for data processing and transmission.
  3. Prototyping and Integration:
        Build prototypes of the sensor hardware. Ensure seamless data processing and connectivity for real-time data transmission.
  4. Testing and Validation:
        Conduct hardware testing, data validation, and integration testing to ensure system reliability and accuracy.
  5. Deployment and Optimization:
        Assist in deploying the sensor hardware in a clinical environment and optimize the system for real-time data streaming.
  6. Performance Monitoring:
        Monitor the performance of the deployed system, addressing any issues related to data integrity, latency, and overall system functionality.
Expected Salary:

$18/hr

Minimum Requirements:
  • Enrolled in a graduate program in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud platforms and data streaming tools such as Apache Kafka.
  • Knowledge of system management tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with hardware system development, sensor, and IoT technologies.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with Raspberry Pi etc.
  • Familiarity with real-time data streaming and ETL processes.
