Job Description:

The professional development education/training specialist will work in the Office of Graduate Professional Development (OGPD) in the Graduate Student Success Center in the Graduate School. The education/training specialist will assist with the design, implementation, assessment, and administrative services in support of existing and future professional development training programs for graduate students, academic departments, faculty, and student organizations. Additionally, the education/training specialist will be responsible for updating web pages, event coordination and implementation, and promoting programming and resources over a variety of channels, including social media. This is a highly collaborative position, and the education/training specialist must have excellent communication skills to interact with a broad audience. Other responsibilities may include participating in recruitment activities, and any other initiatives in Graduate Student Success Center as needed.

Daily program operations (design, implementation, assessment, administration, occasionally grading assignments related to programming efforts) for all current and future professional development programs in the office.

Support and maintain marketing efforts of the office, including content creation and communication across multiple platforms (newsletter, website, email, social media). Marketing and communication will be between OGPD and students, faculty, and staff.

Design and implementation on new efforts, and/or improvement of current programming based on published and unpublished best practices for the field, benchmarking against peer institutions, and assessment needs.

Create, update, and maintain data and reports on programming efforts, reach, and engagement.

Provide advising to graduate students based on professional development and career needs and aspirations.

Administer specific programs, including 3MT and TA awards.

Coordinate, lead, and participate in meetings, seminars, workshops connected to professional development.

Expected Salary:

$46,000- $51,000

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree or higher, familiarity and experience with doctoral training, experience with student affairs.
