Job Description: |
The Office of the University Registrar is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Registrar Services Coordinator I. In this role, you will manage VA Educational Benefits certifications, coordinate university petitions, and ensure compliance with residency requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
VA Educational Benefits Management
- Certify students for VA Educational Benefits in accordance with federal, state, and university guidelines.
- Monitor and track student academic and financial eligibility, and handle enrollment changes.
- Collaborate with the VA Regional Processing Office and University Bursar on payment and financial issues.
- Provide informational support regarding VA benefits through various communication channels.
- Train staff and student employees on VA certification processes.
Petition Processing
- Coordinate processing university petitions, medical petitions, and enrollment correction requests.
- Manage and track petition results, updating electronic student records accordingly.
- Prepare for and participate in weekly committee meetings, logging results and notifying students.
- Serve as back-up lead for the university petitions committee and review residency petitions.
- Handle subpoenas and public records requests related to academic records.
Other Duties
- Train, supervise, and evaluate student employees assigned to the area.
- Participate in educational workshops and training to stay current with VA programs and regulations.
- Perform cross-trained duties in various office areas, including imaging, registration, room scheduling, commencement, and grade processing.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
This position is located at the University of Florida's main campus in Gainesville, FL and may be eligible for a flexible, hybrid work arrangement in accordance with the University of Florida and Division of Enrollment Management's policies.

Expected Salary: |
$43,888 annually

Minimum Requirements: |
Bachelor's degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
|
Preferred Qualifications: |
- Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relations with others; ability to supervise.
- Ability to establish work priorities and coordinate the timely completion of work assignments; strong organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and confidentiality.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret university and registrar policies, procedures, and academic regulations.
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency. Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Gator360, and other student records systems is also preferred.
