Job Description:

Support the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering special state college and other student partnership programs. Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of partnership programs, assist with partnership program student academic advisement, course registration, student and parent information sessions, event scheduling, new student orientation, digital communications, and website updates. Collects and analyzes data on partnership program student performance metrics (under IRB guidelines and director guidance) for engineering education research backed strategic planning and program direction development.

Support K-12 programs for the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering Office of Student Affairs. Supports the College of Engineering K-12 director with engineering run K-12 outreach events, camps, engineering challenges, and campus visits. Including event planning, event scheduling, event execution, youth compliance, housing, budget planning/monitoring, digital communications, and program direction development. Maintains communication pathways and database of K-12 school contacts for various outreach programs. Develops select K-12 STEM curriculum for engineering outreach activities and camps. Coaches and mentors college student volunteers for engineering K-12 outreach activities and camps. Collects and analyzes data on K-12 program activities (under IRB guidelines and faculty/director guidance) for engineering education research backed strategic planning of engineering K-12 program direction and grant proposal development.

Support Engineering Student Organizations Outreach Activities: Assists engineering student organizations with information and policies on UF youth compliance procedures, background checks needed working with minors, and booking spaces for K-12 campus visits for engineering student organizations. Develops guidelines and documentation for engineering student organizations to follow to ensure UF youth-compliance procedures are followed on- and off- UF campus when UF students are working with minors.

Expected Salary:

$55,000-$60,000; commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Should be articulate and have a good command of the English language. Proficient writing skills and the ability to compose correspondence, edit, and proofread.
  • Should be punctual and maintain an excellent attendance record.
  • Consistently demonstrate personal initiative: display interest in the overall well-being of Unit  and the College.
