Job Description:

The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title of Instructional Assistant/Associate/Full Professor. Although the anticipated hiring rank is Lecturer/Instructional Assistant Professor, senior levels will be considered based upon experience. Duties and responsibilities include teaching as well as updating and developing graduate engineering courses and may include both online as well as face‐to‐face instruction. Research in support of teaching may be included. In addition, there may be other service and teaching activities at the local, state, and national level, as well as at the university level, as directed by the department chair. Teaching assignments will be made according to background and experience and will be six to eight courses per year based on mutual agreement.

The ideal candidate would have experience in teaching graduate courses in computer science, demonstrating a deep understanding of advanced topics. Proficiency in Python programming is essential, and the candidate should have extensive hands-on experience with both TensorFlow and PyTorch frameworks. The successful candidate will possess expertise in the mathematics for machine learning and deep learning, showcasing a comprehensive knowledge of algorithms, models, and applications in these domains. The ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to graduate-level students, foster a collaborative learning environment, and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field is crucial.
