Job Description:

Center Program Coordination: Within an administrative team, manage SECVBD activities, reporting, and communications across the 13 states/territories of the SECVBD. In addition, the research coordinator II will provide administrative project support for all current grants in the Dinglasan laboratory, including the submission of extramural grant applications related to vector-borne diseases.

Specific duties include:

- Leading SECVBD communications through technical and professional channels. This includes sharing program successes and activities through routine website management (via WordPress); social media content development (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn); creation of semi-annual newsletters; distribution through email list-servs; management of large, multi-institutional webinars; and formal stakeholder presentations, held virtually and in-person.

- Leading SECVBD policy outreach and education. This includes heading advocacy and education efforts through in-person meetings and the creation of tailored written communication materials in collaboration with SECVBD faculty. Create and maintain relationships with policymakers and related advocacy groups (e.g., via the Entomological Society of America, the Vector-Borne Disease Network, etc.). Contribute to VBD policy recommendations at the national and international levels.

- Contributing to collaborative partnership developments. This includes creating and maintaining open relationships with stakeholders (e.g., health departments, academic institutes, vector control agencies, and the general public) throughout 13 states and territories and other Centers of Excellence. Leverage networking to further program project activities and trainings.

- Managing training events for the Center. This includes managing recruitment, selection, and onboarding of fellowship and internship participants and host sites, development of workshop agendas, budgets, and logistics. Manage existing online courses, from initial content creation to technical website development, and gaining CEU approval across multiple states. Create and implement multi-step evaluation tools to measure training program effectiveness (i.e., pre-, post-, and delayed evaluations).

- Managing complex record-keeping and reporting. This includes assembly and creation of program progress reports to meet CDC guidelines; developing systems to monitor and share project activities and deliverables; and maintenance of metrics related to people, product, and publication outcomes.

- Attend group research group meetings and presentations

- Mentoring/supervision and support of SECVBD fellows and interns

Expected Salary:

$46,000 annually

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

• Experience working in vector-borne diseases and epidemiological research at the state level
• Currently pursuing an MS degree in a related field
• Strong organizational and communication skills
