Job Description:

Determine schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, projects and tasks based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skills of labor force. Hires, trains, supervises, assigns, schedules, directs, monitors, develops, and evaluates employees and assigned tasks associated with Event Services & Equipment Rental, l, Supply and Equipment Deliveries, Virus Suppression Services, Fleet Vehicles, and Warehouse Operations and Equipment Repairs. Assigns Work Orders in AiM and charges time as required. Repeatedly monitors and assesses work performance and conducts inspections upon completion. Plans, organizes, and manages tasks and workflow which promote the timely and optimal execution of work orders, special projects and equipment needs. Plans and implements adequate coverage and services to support the University Commencement Ceremonies.

Responsible for working closely with departments or customers providing service estimates, scheduling services, and accounting for labor and materials used in AiM. Develops, implements, and maintains marketing strategies and processes to increase revenues for Event Services operation. Compute estimates and actual cost of factors such as materials and labor.

Assess equipment repairs to ensure optimal return on investment and resources and provide supervisors with repair updates. Stays abreast of industry and be able to determine and recommend to the Manager of Operations the equipment, parts, and vehicle needs of the department. Submit requisitions for equipment repairs and/or purchases after researching and obtaining quotations, and as a Shopper submit a cart via UF Marketplace System. Conduct regular and periodic inventory and assessment of custodial and virus suppression equipment housed or under repair in the Warehouse, as well as moving equipment, and rental tables and chairs. Orders and controls supplies in all functions and operations assigned. Coordinate timely delivery of new/repaired equipment throughout campus to ensure a seamless and continuous bilateral material stream. Meet with vendors and suppliers to discuss existing and new equipment and/or supplies. Maintain and account for departmental-wide key disbursement and inventory and seek approval from the

Manager of Operations for key copies and distribution. Responsible that vehicles are properly maintained and operational.

Responsible for monitoring and tracking employee attendance records daily, counseling and documenting those with issues which impact the Attendance and Leave Policy and recommends appropriate disciplinary resolutions to the Manager of Operations. Checks time for employees in Kronos and approves timecards in Kronos. Authorizes employee sick and vacation leave requests.

Maintains employee discipline, provides conflict resolution, enforces University regulations and Facilities Services policies, and conducts quarterly evaluations (UF Engaged).

Drive state vehicles, including a 15-passenger vans, box trucks and stake body trucks.

Requires Class E Drivers’ License.

Required to complete training prescribed by Facilities Services Training and Education Department, and the University’s Compliance Training.

Required to follow and adhere to all Building Services Standard Operating Procedures, and Facilities Services Policies and Directives.

Certificate (EHS) to operate a 12-15 passenger van

Criminal background check and Physical examination required.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM. The incumbent is expected to be periodically

available during off hours to perform campus visits for special events and all campus emergencies.

Total hours per week is 40.

Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/ordays for

operational purposes.

Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

 

Expected Salary:

$60,000.00 to $65,000.00 Annually

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. For some positions assigned to this class, special qualifications may be added to the minimum, such as appropriate professional registration or certification.

Preferred:

Equivalent experience in a post-secondary educational setting. Experience in operational logistics and/or transportation.

Computer knowledge and skills, (AiM, Excel, Access, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and data mining, complex querying, pivot table generation, and reporting writing.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, both oral and written.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate a multitude of responsibilities and set priorities.
  • Ability to supervise people, maintains accurate records, determine work priorities, assign work, and ensure proper completion.
  • Ability to assign work and ensure completion of assignments.
  • Ability to establish and maintained effective working relations with subordinates, peers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job (standing and lifting throughout the shift).
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds:
  • Ability to work overhead.
  • Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)..
  • Ability to perform various tasks with minimal instruction after proper training.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure in both a public and internal administrative capacity.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment which may require re-prioritization of daily operations.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a tactful and courteous manner.
