Job Description:

The Department of Biomedical Neuroscience (BNS) at the University of Florida is seeking a part-time Undergraduate Programmer to support research in natural language processing and clinical data analysis. This OPS position offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-performance computing environment and contribute to cutting-edge biomedical research.

Expected Salary:

$ 16.70/hr

Required Qualifications:
  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate computer science program
  • Proficiency in Python and NLP libraries (e.g., NLTK, SpaCy)
  • Experience with natural language processing techniques
  • Familiarity with high-performance computing (e.g., HiPerGator)
  • Ability to text mine large document sets
  • Strong communication skills and reliability in team settings
Preferred:
  • Experience with HiPerGator-RV
  • Knowledge of LLMs and GatorTron for text mining
  • Background in clinical data preprocessing and management
