Job Description:

This is a Federal Work Study position in the Wilmot Gardens greenhouse focused on greenhouse maintenance of the production area. Maintenance tasks will include keeping the greenhouse clean and organized. Plant care will include watering, fertilizing, and other duties as needed. Horticultural experience is helpful but not required.

Job Duties will include:

  • Keeping the greenhouse floor clean
  • Keeping greenhouse bench areas clean
  • Keeping the storage area organized and clean
  • Helping to track inventory
  • Cleaning glass and knee walls as needed
  • Washing pots and other greenhouse containers
  • Helping to maintain exterior planting beds adjacent to the greenhouse as needed
  • Watering and other plant care as needed (instruction will be provided)
  • Occasional maintenance of greenhouse environmental controls (instruction will be provided)
  • Performing other tasks related to maintaining the greenhouse as needed
Expected Salary:

$14 - $16/hr commensurate with education and experience

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through Federal Work-Study (FWS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.
Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week. A Federal Work Award Letter for the Fall 2025 semester is required and must be uploaded electronically to be considered for this position.
