The Laboratory of Stem Cell and Metabolism at the University of Florida (UF) seeks a highly motivated and creative Postdoctoral Associate to join a multidisciplinary research team investigating the molecular and metabolic mechanisms that regulate tissue physiology and disease. The successful candidate will lead independent and collaborative projects focused on cellular metabolism, mitochondrial function, and epigenetic regulation in metabolic tissues (adipose and liver). The Postdoctoral Associate will work closely with Dr. Feng Yue (Principal Investigator) and collaborators to develop new research directions and contribute to the lab’s mission of understanding metabolic adaptation, stem cell function, and chronic disease pathogenesis. The expected start date for this position is January 2026.
The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to:
- Set the tone for both scientific and scholarly excellence within the lab.
- Design, execute, and analyze experiments using molecular, cellular, and physiological techniques.
- Drive forward complex and impactful projects, leading to high-quality publications.
- Develop fellowship and grant applications to support independent research growth.
- Present findings in lab meetings, departmental seminars, and national/international conferences.
- Contribute to mentoring of graduate and undergraduate trainees.
- Engage actively with collaborators and contribute to the lab’s dynamic and collegial environment.

Background Information

Preferred: |
- Expertise in molecular biology, such as cell culture, gene editing, IP, WB, flow cytometry, etc.
- Epigenetics/Genomics approaches: ChIP, ChIP-seq/CUT&RUN, ATAC-seq, RNA-seq, CRISPR Screening, etc.
- Expertise in in vivo animal models or organoids.
- Basic bioinformatic knowledge (R/Python) or ability to learn.
- Excellent oral communication and written skills in English, with good organization, attention to detail, and analytical abilities.
