This position is open to all students eligible to work on campus in Gainesville. Students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA and be enrolled for at least six credit hours a semester. Registered students are employed part-time for a maximum of 10 hours per week.

Job Description:

The Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry is dedicated to building a more food- secure campus for the University community. The Field & Fork Pantry is operated by a team of student and community volunteers. To help expand and enrich the volunteer experience, the pantry is seeking and enthusiastic and organized Volunteer Lead to coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Pantry volunteer program. Applicants should feel comfortable engaging with pantry volunteers by talking about food and financial insecurity, food access and fielding questions about volunteer opportunities. Students with a background or current academic work in the following areas will be strongly considered: public health, health education and promotion, counseling and counselor education, business administration, or higher education/education leadership.

Primary responsibilities will include the following:

· Post volunteer schedule needs per semester.

· Coordinate with Pantry Coordinator to monitor weekly schedule and communicate changes in volunteer needs.

· Help recruit, interview and train volunteers.

· Oversee volunteer development efforts to demonstrate appreciation for volunteers.

· Serve as staff representative to guide volunteers or student staff in the absence of the Pantry Coordinator.

· Assist with volunteer coordination and pick-up of campus-wide food drive collections.

· Assist with other Field & Fork Pantry projects and tasks as needed.

Expected Salary:

$16.00/Hr.

· Must be able to start in November 2025

· Must work office hours physically in the Field & Fork Pantry or Peabody Hall.

· Must be able to commit 8-10 hours per week to this position and its responsibilities for Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026 and Fall 2026.

· Must be able to attend any required training and Pantry staff meetings.

· Knowledgeable of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint Outlook)

· Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

Preferred:

Preferred Qualifications

· Experienced in research, employment teaching, volunteering, presenting or student organization participation in volunteer management, food insecurity, social services, wellness, or adult training.

· Valid Driver's License.

· Graduate student.

· Strong interest in food security, social services, food access, and/or food systems.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Experience with public speaking and/or group facilitation.

· Ability to work in a team and connect with others easily.

· Ability to work autonomously.

· Excellent organization and time management skills.

· Excellent attendance and punctuality.
