The Department of Health Outcomes and Biomedical Informatics is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to fill the role of an OPS Research Assistant. The OPS Research assistant will provide research support in Jacksonville, Florida, for projects related to patient-reported outcomes in cancer patients. This position is under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer LeLaurin and Magda Montague, MPH.
Participate in day-to-day operations of assigned studies, including travel to clinical and/or community sites.
Assist with data collection and research participant recruitment activities, including obtaining informed consent and conducting participant screening.
Recruit study participants through approved strategies, including phone calls, emails, and clinic-based engagement.
Assist with coordinating research participant scheduling, sending appointment reminders, and conducting follow-ups to maintain study engagement.
Communicating with research staff and participating sites as needed.
Assist with preparing and maintaining study materials, including recruitment tools, consent forms, and data collection instruments.
Responsible for maintaining detailed and organized records of recruitment and study participation in accordance with UF and study-specific compliance requirements.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
Assist study faculty and staff in conducting participant interviews.
Assist the qualitative data coding team by using NVivo software to code de-identified interview transcripts.
Attend and contribute to weekly team meetings.
Assist with preparing manuscripts, performing literature searches, creating figures, drafting literature summaries, and formatting references and bio sketches.
Other duties as assigned, may include assistance with maintaining project compliance regulations, including creating and renewing IRB protocols and data use agreements.
