Job Description:

 

Advise and support the Judicial Branch & SG Elections Process:

a. Advise members of the Judicial Branch, including but not limited to, the Supervisor of Elections.

b. Serve as the primary Advisor for the Fall/Spring SG elections and the primary contact for over 10 departments involved in each election.

c. Manage the Judicial Branch administrative processes including, but not limited to, meeting minutes, judicial opinions and records, rosters, eligibility, and the Supreme Court Reporter in accordance with UF and State of Florida rules, policies, and regulations.

 

Provide advising support for designated Student Government entities

a. Advise Student Government Cabinet which leads programs and events across campus for various student initiatives including: Leadership Readiness, Career Development, Health Affairs, Veteran’s Affairs, and First-Year Experience.

a. Advise certain agencies within the Executive Branch of Student Government, some of which may include: The Big Event, Chomp the Vote, Gators Going Green, Gator Innovators, Nightlife Navigators, Young Leaders Conference, etc.

b. Assisting student leaders in event programming including, but not limited to idea development, budgeting, planning, advertising and promotion, program implementation, and program evaluation.

c. Maintain up to date records of student leader rosters, program participants, and completed trainings.

 

Serve as administrative lead and provide oversight for Student Government Free Printing Services.

a. Provide supervision, training, and leadership for SG Free Printing and 8-10 student assistant staff members.

b. Assist with budget planning and reporting. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ensure proper procedures, controls and financial guidelines for all areas.

c. Maintain multiple free printing locations across campus, accurate inventory records, and up to date training and safety materials.

 

Assist with administrative functions within Student Government.

a. Assist with personal and leadership development of Student Government members, including assisting with Student Government retreats and trainings.

b. Meet regularly with supervisor to set goals each semester, monitor progress towards the goals, and conduct formal evaluations of work performed.

c. Develop, conduct, and analyze research and assessments for various programs and services of the Office of Campus Engagement including but not limited to programming needs assessment, effectiveness of programs and services including outcomes assessment and student satisfaction.

 

Contributes to the Division and University through active participation on committees and division-wide initiatives (example opportunities: emergency dean on call  conduct committee, student welcome events, etc); and, other duties as assigned.

Received: This position will report to the Assistant Director of Student Government Advising & Operations. General direction will be rendered through established goals and expectations, on-going input and feedback via regular communication with employee on a daily basis, and regular performance reviews.

Exercised: Directly supervises the following positions: Numerous Student Assistants within the SG Print Lab

40 hours per week, with additional time required during peak periods such as the beginning and end of each semester. Frequent night and weekend hours are required.

Expected Salary:

$48,000-$50,000 Annual Salary

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience.

Preferred:

• A Master’s Degree in Higher Education, College Student Personnel, or comparable field or a Bachelor’s in an appropriate field and 2 (two) years relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience in advising students and working with event planning and student organizations at the college or university level
• Demonstrated planning, organization, and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with computers and basic software applications.
• Demonstrated a commitment to creating a welcoming environment through strong interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated experience working with Student Government.
• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in marketing and promotions.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in budget development.
