Job Description:  

Research Hub Director, Department of Medicine, University of Florida. The Department of Medicine invites applications for the position of Director for the Department of Medicine Research Hub.  As a leading academic medical center, we are dedicated to advancing patient care, fostering groundbreaking research, and shaping the next generation of medical professionals.  Join us in making a lasting impact on healthcare through this important research leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for research hub. Collaborate with departmental leadership to develop and implement research goals and objectives aligned with the institution's mission and vision.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the research hub, including staff, collaborative workgroups, strategic programs, budget, and the annual faculty evaluation processes for hub members.
  • Partner with Division Chiefs on the recruitment and selection process for incoming researchers, ensuring a fair and equitable selection process.  Develop and implement strategies to attract a pool of highly qualified applicants to the Department of Medicine, as well as retain existing talent.
Expected Salary:  $60,000
Required Qualifications:
  • Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Board certification in internal medicine or a medical specialty.
Preferred:
  • Prior experience in research leadership preferred.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
