Data Programming and Architecture

  • Design, implement, and manage databases and data systems/pipelines for receiving, storing, cleaning, preparing, and analyzing the program’s data for various purposes.
  • Manage the program’s coding environment, dependencies, and application prerequisites using containerization software such as Docker.
  • Leverage Python, SQL, and Docker to test code in development environments and deploy processes to a production environment.
  • Design, implement, and manage data storage and pipelines to support the program’s database designs and overall architecture.
  • Ensure optimal performance, quality, responsiveness, and scalability of the program’s features and databases.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks and bugs within the data systems/pipelines.
  • Develop and manage a flexible and secure storage of data to meet the program's evolving information needs.
  • Work with a processing server to integrate data pipelines/systems and cronjobs that automate the flow of data.

Data Coordination and Management

  • Design, develop, and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.
  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines to move data between Azure MySQL databases and support program’s needs such as data integration, reporting, and research.
  • Grant user access and privileges for program data and databases.
  • Gather, analyze, and normalize information related to business processes to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance.
  • Analyze and optimize data requirements, database schema, and processing architectures to meet system needs.

Collaboration and Support

  • Collaborate with internal teams, IT staff, vendors, and stakeholders on the design and functionality of data pipelines/systems, data sharing processes, and infrastructure.
  • Provide support to internal teams and stakeholders for data and systems-related inquiries.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and implement new features.

Data Reporting and Program Evaluation

  • Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and reporting short- and long-term program impacts, such as Objectives Key Results (OKRs).
  • Fulfill data reporting needs, including reports for the Florida Department of Education (FDOE), internal teams, and stakeholders.
  • Support the development of reports and presentations to communicate the program’s data and findings to internal teams and stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions to interpret results, gather feedback, and drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Provide data support for research studies.

Technical Documentation

  • Prepare and update technical documentation related to databases and tables, data pipelines/systems and processes.
  • Assist in drafting and managing data-sharing agreements with school districts, state agencies, vendors, and other partners.

Expected Salary:

$70,000 - $80,000

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred: • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
• Two years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Azure MySQL databases.
• Experience developing SFTP and API data pipelines
• Knowledge of working with a Linux-based processing server.
• Experience with large-scale data, data infrastructure and data visualization.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience with DevOps and Containerization.
