Job Description: |
The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, time-limited, 12-month, non-tenure track Research Assistant/Associate/Full Scientist, in the area of nonlinear and adaptive control. Initial appointment is for one year, with reappointment anticipated based on funding and performance.
Duties and responsibilities include the development of Lyapunov-based control methods for uncertain nonlinear control systems, especially based on the use of new Lyapunov-based deep learning methods. Such development includes: ideation, mathematical development, Lyapunov-based analysis, executing simulations and experiments, and disseminating research findings. The candidate is expected to perform some research efforts as the lead and also collaborate in mentoring doctoral students in collaborative research efforts.

Required Qualifications: |

Preferred: |
Ideal applicants should possess a strong background in one or more of the following areas: nonlinear (Lyapunov-based) analysis tools, software skills with Matlab or Python, and strong writing skills.
