Requirements:

Completion of ninth grade.

Essential Functions:

 

 

 

Daily activities:
Cleans and disinfects public and private restrooms.
Empties trash and recyclable materials.
Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors.
Dusts furniture, blinds and other surfaces.
Raises and lowers flags.
Drives county vehicles for errands and outside duties.

As needed activities:
Picks up trash in parking lot.
Makes minor maintenance repairs.
Reports maintenance needs to appropriate personnel.
Unloads and inventories cleaning supplies.
Rearranges furniture.
Cleans windows.
Cleans kitchen appliances.
Cleans department vehicles.

Assists with setting up and breaking down program events.
Attends trainings as requested.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Expected Salary:

$15-$16.83/hourly, commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications:

Completion of ninth grade.

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of the tools, equipment and methodology of building custodial maintenance.
Knowledge of department policies and procedures.
Skill in the use of assigned tools.
Skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations.
Ability to operate a computer.
High School Diploma.

Special Instructions to Applicants:

SUPERVISION:

The Office Manager assigns work in terms of somewhat general instructions. The supervisor spot-checks completed work for compliance with instructions and established procedures, accuracy, and the nature and propriety of the final results.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

8:30 AM – 12:30 PM, Monday-Friday(.50 FTE, 20 hours per week)

OTHER CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POSITION:

Working Conditions: Work has some exposure to environmental changes (e.g., outdoor weather and/or field conditions, etc.) or irate customers, odors, heights and/or dust.


Risk/Safety Conditions: This position has some exposure or risk to physical health and/or physical safety.

Essential Physical Activities: Stooping, sitting, crouching, walking, pulling and/or lifting heavy objects, grasping, hearing, seeing up close, seeing far away, kneeling, reaching, pulling, talking, standing, finger movement, repetitive motions, depth perception.

COMMUNICATION:

Contacts are typically with county employees, contract personnel, vendors, and members of the general public.

Contacts are typically to provide services, to give or exchange information, or to resolve problems.

A criminal background and post-offer health assessment will be conducted.
