Job Description:

The Office of Educational Affairs is seeking a Director of Educational Affairs Administration to provide strategic leadership and oversight of all administrative and operational functions within the Office of Educational Affairs. Reporting to the Senior Associate Dean of Educational Affairs, this position ensures efficient processes across the academic, clinical, research, and administrative missions.

The Director plays a key role in developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing a ~$15 million operating budget, and overseeing financial performance and contracts in support of the College of Medicine’s strategic and financial goals. The role requires close collaboration with internal division leaders, the College of Medicine Dean’s Office, and external stakeholders to align operations with broader institutional objectives. This leadership position is essential to advancing the operational efficiency and long-term success of the Office of Educational Affairs.

About This Role:

Administrative Oversight and Leadership

  • Directly responsible for all business and administrative functions related to Educational Affairs.
  • Supervises Educational Affairs Operations & Support division leaders and sets goals and objectives based on the needs of the Office Educational Affairs and the divisions. 
  • Develops and establishes operating procedures for Educational Affairs consistent with Educational Affairs and the Senior Associate Dean’s policies/objectives and ensures adequate implementation.
  • Ensures effective operations and addresses needs across four missions: academic, administration, clinical and research. 
  • Collaborates with Educational Affairs leadership to develop and implement the Educational Affairs strategic plan.

Financial and Budgetary Management

  • Formulates and executes the Educational Affairs budget within the structure of the College of Medicine to ensure revenue and expense targets are realistic and achievable. 
  • Appraises and reports to the Senior Associate Dean regarding the financial effectiveness of all Educational Affair’s operations across all divisions and directs the preparation of monthly financial reports and forecasts.
  • Responsible for ensuring that financial records are accurately maintained and reconciled throughout the fiscal year.
  • Review new contracts and monitor existing contracts and ensure proposed contracts are financially sound and cover all expected costs.

Oversight of Education Affairs and the Divisions

  • Provide oversight of departmental divisions and their Associate Directors, ensuring effective resource allocation, operational alignment, and performance management across functional areas. 
  • Ensure division staff FTE resources are used efficiently and effectively. 
  • Meet regularly with division staff leaders to ensure division operations are functioning optimally. 

College of Medicine Dean’s Office Collaboration

  • Serve as a strategic partner to the Dean, Dean’s Office leadership, Regional Campuses, and key committees to align Educational Affairs initiatives with the overarching goals and mission of the College of Medicine. 
  • Coordinates across the college to collaborate with departments and department administrators in support of Educational Affair’s mission. 
  • Foster and sustain effective relationships with college leaders, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to promote collaboration and drive innovation in medical education. 
  • Represent Educational Affairs as the primary liaison for the College of Medicine in communications with internal units, the University of Florida, and external agencies, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and accreditation-related inquiries.

Expected Salary:

$120,000 - $140,000 annually; commensurate with education and experience.
