The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville, seeks a full time Neurosurgery faculty at the non-tenure accruing level of Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor.
The successful candidate will be BC/BE or equivalent in Neurosurgery. The successful candidate will possess a Florida Medical license or Medical Faculty Certificate and have specialty interest and experience in Neuro – Trauma/Acute Care neurosurgery. UF Health Jacksonville is the only level - one trauma hospital in the region with a large and complex volume of Neuro - trauma patients. The faculty will be part of the division of acute care neurosurgery and needs to be proficient with the management of both cranial and spine neurosurgical patients.
The candidate will also work to enhance and further develop the Acute Care Neurosurgery division in the Neurosurgery department, including building interdepartmental collaborations and treatment protocols as well as clinical and translational research and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows.
This position will report to the Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville. As a member of the Department of Neurosurgery, the individual will have the opportunity to enjoy a multidisciplinary collaboration with colleagues utilizing departmental conferences. The successful candidate is also expected to participate in shared general neurosurgery responsibilities, teaching, and research.
General Duties:
Primary duties include providing high quality direct patient care for both inpatients and outpatients for a wide variety of neurosurgical cases, but with specific emphasis on Neuro-Trauma. In addition, this position will have secondary duties providing clinical teaching of trainees in Neurosurgery and participate in the educational and research programs of the institution. Participate as a member of the Neurosurgery team through collaborative conferences. Rotational Level 1 trauma call for the organization. Participate in monthly division meetings, administrative functions, and institutional committees as requested.
