Job Description: |
The University of Florida’s Department of Psychiatry is seeking a Research Coordinator III to lead day-to-day operations within the Neurocognitive Laboratory. This position plays a critical role in managing federally and state-funded research studies and ensures compliance with research protocols, IRB standards, and participant engagement strategies. The Research Coordinator III also oversees study staff and serves as a key liaison with the national research consortium and various campus research support offices.
The Research Coordinator III serves as the team leader for research operations within the UF Neurocognitive Laboratory, supporting several complex research projects focused on addiction and neurocognitive development. Key responsibilities include:
- Executing recruitment, retention, and assessment activities across study protocols.
- Managing lab operations, supervising research staff, and coordinating training.
- Administering scheduling, travel, and compensation for study participants.
- Liaising with UF CTSI resources and external partners.
- Overseeing database entry, management, and data quality control.
- Assisting with research dissemination efforts, including reports, posters, and presentations.
This position also fosters a collaborative lab culture, promotes open communication among staff, and ensures research integrity and efficiency.

Expected Salary: |
$60,000 - $65,000; commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications: |
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a proven track record of managing competing priorities in a research environment.
- High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information, including personal, medical, and financial data.
- Skilled in problem-solving and decision-making under minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with study participants from diverse backgrounds.
- Adept at troubleshooting and maintaining research-related technology and software tools.
- Capable of drafting clear documentation, training guides, and standard operating procedures to support study compliance and operational continuity.

Preferred: |
- Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization.
- Experience with database development, statistical software (SAS, R), subject recruitment, and laboratory management.
- Familiarity with EEG and MRI technologies and training in the conduct of human subject research.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with stakeholders and leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
