Job Description: |
- Independent work on research projects which includes but is not limited to preparation of human and
murine tissue sections (paraffin-embedded and frozen), as well as conventional and immunohistochemical staining procedures, confocal microscopy, digital spatial profiling (Nanostring GeoMx and nCounter platform), RNA and DNA isolation, digitization of slides, data analysis and preparation of manuscripts.
- Management of research projects and collaborative efforts according to PI guidance, which includes
guided supervision of undergraduate and graduate students.
- Establishing, testing and maintenance of laboratory protocols with respect to immunohistochemistry,
conventional histology, and biochemistry (Western Blot).
- Supplement efforts of the UF Neuromedicine Human brain and tissue bank with respect to
biospecimen collection, inventory, processing, data entry, and protocols. This includes, but is not limited to handling of tissue requests and IRB protocols, handling of formalin fixed, as well as frozen human brain tissue specimens.

Expected Salary: |
Salary range is between 45,000 - 46,000 per year
|
Required Qualifications: |
Bachelor's degree in biology or a related field and three years of experience or Master's degree in biology or a related field with one year of relevant experience. |
Preferred: |
Preferred skills: Preparation and cutting of human and mouse paraffin-embedded tissue. Performance of conventional histological and immunohistochemical stains. Performance of immunofluorescence stains. Confocal miscroscopy. Experience in digital imaging/analysis. Experience in digital spatial profiling (Nanostring GeoMx and nCounter platforms) Handling of human and mouse tissue specimens. Experience with DNA and RNA extraction. Desirable skills: Experience with biochemical methods. Advantage skills:
