A Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an Associate Degree and four years years of appropriate experience.

Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining the college’s website, ensuring it remains updated, user-friendly, responsive and visually appealing. Has a strong eye for detail and feels empowered to make recommendations to improve the user experience. Additionally, evaluates code to ensure it meets industry standards and is compatible with browsers, devices and operating systems. Also, regularly audits website security, implements necessary fixes and ensures compliance with UF’s security protocols. Works closely with the college’s IT team to support updates, outages and security events.

Collaborate with department leads to assist with web maintenance on department-adjacent sites.

Maintain dashboards for internal stakeholders to visualize traffic trends and engagement rates, and translate website analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) into strategic improvement recommendations. Optimize web content for traditional search as well as AI-powered search tools like Google AI Overview and ChatGPT to enhance discoverability.

Proactively refine and remove outdated content to keep the digital experience relevant and engaging. Write using a simple, clear and straightforward style and ensure all content aligns with UF’s branding and voice.

Develop strategic landing pages for digital ad campaigns to drive engagement. Contribute to digital content strategy planning, aligning web efforts with recruitment, student success and college-wide communication goals.

Work closely with HHP’s graphic designer to develop multimedia needs to enhance the user experience.

Maintain Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) AA Accessibility compliance to align with university standards.

Maintain understanding of current web technologies or programming practices through continuing education, reading or participation in workshops or groups.

 

Expected Salary:

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelors degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience, or an Associate Degree and four years years of appropriate experience.

Preferred:

Minimum of two years of experience developing websites.
Proficient using WordPress.
Tasks require appropriate experience updating web content, web writing, content strategy and digital content coordination.
Basic understanding of web accessibility, WCAG 2.X, Section 508 compliance
Proficient using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX) knowledge are preferred.
Experience with trend analysis and web-based data analytics to make data-driven decisions.
