Job Description:

As a Talent Development Intern at the UF Health Cancer Center (UFHCC), you will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Talent Development division of our Office of Human Resources. You will participate in ongoing Talent Development projects and activities, while supporting the daily operations of the division.  

This role offers hand-on experience in instructional design, learning management system (LMS) operations, and adult education strategies within a dynamic healthcare research setting. The ideal candidate will have an interest in learning more about talent development and training program management.  

  • In your new role you will be responsible for the following:  

  • Day-to-day administration of functional Talent Development processes, ensuring smooth, efficient operations.  

  • Assisting with LMS administration in Canvas including grading, updating materials, and managing enrollments.  

  • Assisting with quality assurance checks and credential compliance for clinical research staff and investigators.  

  • Participating in ongoing Talent Development projects including supporting instructional design, editing, and other related programmatic activities. 

This is an intern-level position, ideal for candidates with an interest in exploring a career in Human Resources in higher education, research, healthcare, or similar industries, with an emphasis on training and talent development.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 hourly

Minimum Requirements:

This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus and will be employed through student Other Personnel Services (OPS) and must maintain a minimum 2.0 grade point average.

Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

Successful pre-employment screening including a background check.

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge/Experience: 

  • Actively pursuing a degree in Education, instructional Technology, Communication, Psychology, Business, or related field.  
  • Awareness of and/or exposure to foundational HR policies, learning theories, and best practices. 
  • Experience in a professional office environment, particularly in higher education, healthcare, research, or similar, preferred.   

Qualities: 

  • Strong desire to learn, seek out, and apply knowledge, methods, and information. 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, especially proof-reading and public speaking skills. 

Skills/Abilities: 

  • Ability to establish and maintain professional and effective working relationships with others. 
  • Ability to distinguish and properly manage confidential information and protected data, including sensitive documents, PIII, etc. 
  • Exposure to and basic skills in using e-learning technologies such as Articulate and LMS (e.g. Canvas). 
  • Success using Microsoft Office Suite.
