Job Description:

This position is responsible for the design, development, and facilitation of associate professional learning and leadership development programs. Working with members of the Lastinger Center, this position assesses the training needs of all associates, serves as a training liaison between subject matter experts (SMEs) and technical experts to identify training delivery needs and develop appropriate training to address the targeted needs. This position also serves as an internal organizational development consultant for teams and managers across the Lastinger Center including strategic planning, change management, organizational assessments, and retreat facilitation.

Responsibilities: this position is responsible for:

Training Design, Development, and Evaluation
 
  • Conducts needs assessments, and with guidance from leadership collaboratively designs and develop appropriate in-person and technology-based training to meet organization and individual needs.
  • Interview’s subject matter experts or conducts other research to develop instructional content.
  • Provides analytical support for the design and development of training curricula, learning strategies, educational policies, or courseware standards.
  • Develops and designs learning aids including, but not limited to, instructional guides and web simulations to assist in the transfer of knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of training materials to ensure objectives are accomplished.

Workshop Facilitation

  • Presents and facilitates workshops on an ongoing basis to help staff maximize leadership qualities and cultivate new strengths.
  • Participates, promotes, and facilitates leadership and mentoring programs.
 
Organizational Development Strategy
 
  • Meets with stakeholders to determine needs and outcomes and design appropriate interventions.
  • Participates and facilitates in organization development initiatives including change management, strategic planning, and assessments.
 
Record Keeping
 
  • Maximizes resources by scheduling and sharing a calendar of upcoming professional learning opportunities.
  • Manages the enrollment, completion, and evaluation process for internal professional learning events.
  • Assists with archiving, coordinating, and securing digital resources to support activities through the maintenance and design of an internal website.
  • Analyzes data and prepares reports to evaluate the overall effectiveness of initiatives and track progress towards organizational goals.

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.
 
 
Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $65,000

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Preferred:
•  Experience: 2 years of experience in a training role preferred.
•  Skills:
     o Strong organizational skills.
     o Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
     o Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and learning management systems (LMS).
     o Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
     o Ability to lead groups and facilitate discussions.
     o Knowledge of adult learning theory and competency-based training.
     o Knowledgeable of HR policies, standards, and procedures.
     o Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
     o Ability to gather, evaluate, and interpret data from a variety of sources.
     o Capable of managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
     o Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and personal professional learning and development.
