Job Description: |
The Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies (AZCEECS) seeks a qualified individual to assist investigators in managing early childhood research and technology development activities. Specific research activities supported by this position include (1) developing web and mobile applications, (2) advancing the use of machine learning and AI in research, and (3) incorporating sensing technology into research activities, such as administering assessments in centers and/or families’ homes. A core mission of AZCEECS is to develop and validate evidence-based tools for teachers, parents, and caregivers to use in public schools, childcare programs, and the community to promote positive child outcomes. The research coordinator will monitor and support research and development activities, ensuring projects meet milestones on time and within budget parameters. The position is time-limited. Continuation of the appointment is contingent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance in the position.
Job Responsibilities:
- Meet regularly with investigators to coordinate and monitor research activities based on the specific project scope of work, proposed timeline, and staff/resource allocation.
- Continually review project activities and research protocols to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations (e.g. Data Sharing Agreements, Institutional Review Board Approvals)
- Coordinate regular staff meetings and provide ongoing reporting of project performance.
- Coordinate field-based research activities (e.g., assisting with recruitment and coordinating assessments in homes and schools) between families, educators, and research staff.
- Produce reports and presentations to communicate findings to funding agencies in collaboration with investigators.
- Lead efforts to recruit research staff and/or students to support research and development activities as needed.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

Required Qualifications: |
- Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- This position requires a Florida driver’s license
|
Preferred: |
- Master’s degree with an education major or related field.
- At least one year of experience coordinating a research project with a technology focus .
- At least two years of experience as an educator/direct service provider in center-based or early childhood education programs.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize across several simultaneous projects, communicating recommendations on a regular basis to individuals from various backgrounds.
- Strong written communication skills as evidenced by application materials.
- Strong oral communication skills as determined through the interview process and reference checks.
