Large Animal Hospital Veterinary Treatment Technician I/II (OPS)

Large Animal Hospital Veterinary Treatment Technician I:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling and treating horses or one year of experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling and treating horses in a veterinary academic teaching hospital.

Large Animal Hospital Veterinary Treatment Technician II:
High school diploma or equivalent; four years of experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling and treating horses or two years of experience loading, unloading, restraining, handling and treating horses in a veterinary academic teaching hospital; and certification or licensure as a Veterinary Technician.

As a member of our nursing staff, you will play an instrumental role in instructing veterinary students in technical skills and performing medical treatments and procedures as directed by our veterinarians. A successful applicant should be seeking a part-time flexible schedule and enjoy learning new things and can quickly adapt to a changing environment. This person would work primarily weekends, holidays and after hours. A person in this position must possess a good base knowledge of veterinary medicine, excellent nursing skills, with experience in treating and handling horses - but may include goats, pigs, alpacas, cattle, sheep, and llama patients.
This position also requires working alternate shifts, holidays, weekends, or “on-call duty.” This position is considered essential personnel, which may include reporting to work during Main Campus closures. This position requires a post- offer health assessment.

$18.00 - 25.00 hourly

Certification or licensure as a veterinary technician is preferred, but not required.
