Position Summary:
The Research Assistant will support the Administrative Research team with a range of administrative, fiscal, research, and community engagement tasks that support community-based participatory research aimed at reducing cancer and other disease disparities and promoting mental and physical health in low-income and/or underserved communities.
This position is ideal for a smart, conscientious, dependable, organized, and proactive student who can work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will support the smooth operation of research administration, event coordination, and fiscal processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, edit, and prepare administrative and research-related documents
- Create and format presentations, flyers, and other visual materials
- Take accurate and succinct meeting minutes
- Manage task scheduling and assist in project coordination in the absence of the Research Coordinator
- Support participant consenting processes and maintain organized digital and paper records
- Contact and coordinate with research participants and community collaborators
- Organize and assist with community events, focus groups, and support group sessions
- Maintain office supply inventory
- Coordinate reimbursement processes and submit payment requests for research-related expenses
- Track participant payments and respond to inquiries regarding compensation
- Assist in onboarding and training interns or new student staff

Expected Salary: |
$14 per hour

Required Qualifications: |
Must be a current University of Florida student with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
|

- Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
- Willingness to learn UF administrative and fiscal systems
- Attention to detail in administrative and fiscal tasks
- Experience working collaboratively with diverse teams and community partners
- Commitment to advancing health equity and supporting underserved communities
- Interest in public health or community-based research
- Experience with graphic design or visual communication is a plus
- Has some knowledge of AI
