The University of Florida Dean of Students Office (DSO) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Federal Work-Study Outreach & Marketing Student Assistant. This dynamic role offers a unique opportunity to work with the Outreach & Marketing Team and collaborate with key areas within the DSO— including Campus Assistance and Resources for Empowerment (CARE), Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution (SCCR), Hitchcock Field & Fork Pantry, and the Collegiate Veterans Success Center.
As an Outreach & Marketing Student Assistant, you will play an integral role in increasing the visibility of programs and services, assisting with event organization, and contributing to impactful marketing and outreach initiatives. The ideal candidate is a creative, results-oriented communicator with strong written and verbal skills, eager to craft compelling messaging that resonates with students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
Key Responsibilities
Potential projects and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Outreach & Marketing: Develop and execute innovative efforts aimed at engaging students, families, faculty, staff, and stakeholders.
- Collaborative Campaign Planning: Work closely with DSO staff to strategize outreach initiatives, including email campaigns, social media engagement, PowerPoint presentations, and other creative marketing methods.
- Content Creation & Promotion: Assist in crafting persuasive marketing materials, including email templates, promotional content, and educational outreach resources.
- Event Coordination & Support: Aid in planning and organizing workshops, webinars, and campus events, ensuring seamless execution and maximum engagement.
- Campus Outreach & Engagement: Support DSO staff during tabling events and outreach education sessions to elevate awareness of available resources.
- Impact Assessment & Improvement: Monitor and evaluate outreach and marketing initiatives to refine messaging and optimize effectiveness.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain professional and timely communication with event attendees, campus partners, and stakeholders throughout the engagement process.
Schedule & Commitment
- Standard Office hours: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some events may occur outside standard office hours, including evenings and/or weekends as scheduled.
- Students must maintain an agreed-upon schedule that aligns with their course commitments.
- Minimum commitment: One semester, with 5-10 hours per week (varies based on Federal Work-Study award). Longer-term engagements are encouraged.
