This position is open to all students who are eligible to work on campus. Registered students are employed on a part-time basis, up to 20 hours per week.

Job Description:

The University of Florida Literacy Institute (UFLI) is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic student to join our team as an Office Assistant. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to our office staff, assist with day-to-day operations, and contribute to the efficient functioning of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer phone calls, direct inquiries, and take accurate messages.
  • Organize, file, and maintain both digital and physical office records.
  • Assist students, faculty, and staff with general inquiries, directing them to the appropriate resources.
  • Input and update data related to departmental operations in spreadsheets/databases.
  • Ensure accurate and organized record-keeping.
  • Assist with special projects or tasks as directed by office staff or the UFLI Center Director
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the center’s needs.

Expected Salary:

$15.00 per hour

Required Qualifications:

Must be a current University of Florida student in good standing, and must be available to work at least 8-10 hours per week.

Preferred:
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and general office software.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently or as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
