The Project Management Specialist for Mathematics will support the development of professional learning courses for educators and oversee other projects of a moderate to complex nature that support the Center’s goals in mathematics. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Agile project management and experience with online learning and/or professional development. The responsibilities will involve overseeing the process of complex course development using Agile methodologies and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful on-time delivery of high-quality professional learning products.

Responsibilities: this position is responsible for:
Project Operations and Logistics
- Support the process of defining project scope and prioritizing responsibilities.
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with project stakeholders and team members.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports
- Create and manage all project-related tools, including project plans, timelines, communication channels, and internal asset management sites.
- Proactively and promptly identify and manage risks, remove roadblocks that impede project progress, and report on risk factors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure adherence to high-quality standards, best practices, and UF policies and procedures.
- Ensure comprehensive and seamless project post-implementation transition.
- Work with finance team members to ensure project expenses are accurately forecasted and stay within budget.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and correspondence, and ensure all project records are accurate and up to date.
Agile workflow and process
- Plan, document and execute Agile-based management plans, including expectations and standards for project execution.
- Provide guidance, training, and resources for Agile processes.
- Act as ScrumMaster to coordinate, schedule and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily and weekly stand-ups, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
- Implement Agile risk mitigation strategies.
- Support a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for optimization in processes and workflows.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, multimedia specialists, and other key team members to ensure seamless integration of Agile practices into the project workflow.
- Foster collaboration and encourage a culture of learning and adaptation within the team.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to promote cooperation and support throughout the project lifecycle.
- Work closely with teams to define roles, prioritize tasks, and track progress.
- Encourage collaborative problem-solving by involving team members and stakeholders in identifying issues and developing solutions.

Lastinger Center for Learning supports and promotes a healthy work-life balance. To achieve this, the Lastinger Center offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule that aligns with the university’s Flexibility in the Workplace Policy. Allowing employees to stagger arrival and departure times as necessary and to vary the number of workdays in the office so long as an employee’s FTE commitment is fulfilled within the university workweek. This policy also allows for occasional, incidental remote work based on individual circumstances.
This position is time-limited and soft-funded.
