Classification Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Job Description:

Installs, repairs, and preventatively maintains metal & wood doors, door frames, mortise locks, hinges, exit devices, door closers, repairs automatic door openers, door closing units, control gates, electric handicap door operators, door hardware, ceiling tile, ceiling grid, and various flooring.

Completes preventative maintenance inspections for interior and exterior of designated campus facilities include ceilings, walls, flooring, doors, windows and other maintained assets. Documents deficiencies and reports conditions to supervisor. Reads and interprets blueprints.

Mixing, pouring finishing and curing of all masonry materials. Tuck-point & repair mortar joints in block & brick. maintains drywall for building maintenance and new construction, plastering both rough and finish coat, repairing stucco, installing marble thresholds, ceramic tile, and various painting.

Installs, repairs, and preventatively maintains windows, window screens, and window frames, inspect & repair fixed classroom seating.

Operates UF vehicle and Man-lifts and completes other essential assignments.

Must possess a Class E Driver’s License

A criminal background and post offer health assessment.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE:

The typical work schedule is Monday – Friday 7:00AM – 3:30PM.

The incumbent is expected to be periodically available during off hours to respond to emergencies.

This position is designated as Essential Personnel. 

Expected Salary:

$21.00 Hourly

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent and two years of relevant experience. Appropriate vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Preferred:

3-5 years of experience overseeing maintenance contracts and trade contractors Working knowledge of facility management to include structural trades along with automatic door systems. Knowledgeable of the construction and renovation processes.
