Job Description:

The Anita Zucker Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies at the University of Florida is seeking a qualified individual to support projects focused on professional learning and practice-based coaching (PBC) for professionals in settings that serve young children from birth to age 5 and their caregivers. This individual will work under the supervision of center faculty and will collaborate with center staff to recruit new sites, provide and document professional learning and PBC supports, and participate in the development of new professional learning and PBC materials. This position requires ongoing and effective communication with Anita Zucker Center faculty and staff, as well as other state and community partners. The position is time limited. Continuation of the appointment is contingent upon the availability of funding and satisfactory performance in the position.

In consultation with Anita Zucker Center faculty:

Support center- and project-related activities under the supervision of faculty and project coordinators

     • Among these functions are:
       o Attend center meetings
       o Coordinate and facilitate project or workgroup meetings
       o Collaborate on center and project-related tasks as assigned

Support the expansion of the Anita Zucker Center – Practice-Based Coaching Initiative

     • Among these functions are:

       o Support the development of professional learning and practice-based coaching (PBC) materials by leading workgroups, activities, and timelines around specific deliverables.
       o Support faculty and staff with recruitment and enrollment of new implementation sites by assisting with the development of scope of work, timeline, and budget justification documents for potential sites.

Support implementation and sustainability activities for sites participating in the Anita Zucker Center – Practice-Based Coaching Initiative

     • Among these functions are:

       o Facilitate professional learning experiences for leaders and coaches (e.g., workshops, webinars, learning communities, conference presentations)
       o Support quality assurance activities for individuals participating in the Anita Zucker Center – Practice-Based Coaching Initiative and monitor data systems for tracking, forecasting caseloads, and reporting

Implement and document professional learning and practice-based coaching (PBC) with community partners under the supervision of faculty and project coordinators

    • Among these functions are:

       o Establish collaborative partnerships with leaders and practitioners in community-based settings serving young children from birth to age five.
       o Provide job-embedded professional learning following the PBC cycle.
       o Document all communication, PBC, and professional learning support using systems provided.
       o Engage in video-based quality assurance activities and regular opportunities for reflection and feedback.

Performs other duties as assigned related to Anita Zucker Center operations.

This is a campus position, Monday through Friday, 08:00 a.m. – 04:00 p.m. It requires flexibility and regular travel to community-based childcare centers in Alachua County and might occasionally require overnight travel to other counties or states.

Expected Salary:

Commensurate based on education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in early childhood education, or a related field
• At least 2 years of direct experience teaching or working with young children from birth through age five
• Experience implementing practice-based coaching
• Experience planning for and providing professional learning
• Experience using data to make decisions about instruction
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local program guidelines and standards for early care and education services
• Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Bi-lingual in Spanish or Haitian Creole
• Demonstrated strength in organization and efficiency in meeting deadlines
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and applications for teaching online and video editing
