Maintenance Generalist I

The Maintenance Generalist supports CLAS by assisting with a broad range of facility-related tasks across all college buildings. This position helps ensure smooth operations by performing general maintenance, coordinating vendor access, assisting with work orders, and supporting renovations and improvement projects. While working under supervision, the Maintenance Generalist is expected to take initiative and complete tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

• General Maintenance and Repairs – Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Facility Operations – Monitor building conditions, assist with workspace reconfigurations, and report maintenance concerns.
• Vendor and Work Order Coordination – Work with UF Facilities Services and vendors to address facility issues and ensure work is completed properly.
• Material Handling and Inventory – Transport and manage tools, furniture, and supplies; assist with inventory tracking.

The salary is $18 per hour.

A high school diploma (or equivalent) and zero (0) to two (2) years of experience in the field or in a related area. 

• Experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
• Familiarity with work order tracking systems.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
