The Special Advisor to the Program in Law & Government is responsible for working with faculty to create, develop, promote, and fund the Program in Law & Government, which is a new College Program that brings together academics, government leaders, judges, and practitioners whose work sits at the intersection of legal, historical, interpretive, and theoretical public law issues at the federal, state, and local levels. The Program will begin with seed money from the College but will grow beyond that initial investment as we build a public-private partnership with private philanthropy, grant funding, and foundation investments to help the College emerge as a thought leader on contemporary public law debates, while helping the College deepen its ties with the state and federal bench and state and federal government leaders. The Special Advisor to the Program will have responsibility for working with College leaders and faculty directors to fund and develop the Program, including through private fundraising and government relations work. The Special Advisor will provide project management and oversight for major Program events, including the Dean’s Dialogue Series, which involves a civil discourse series, as well as annual conferences and major events. The Special Advisor will be integral to recruiting new faculty into the College to enhance the Program’s initiatives, as well as building partnership across the State and across academia to further the Program’s work. |
