Job Description:

Supporting and growing fiscal resources and relationship capital for new Program

• Establish and facilitate new and ongoing relationships with key stakeholders who can fund Program initiatives, including through presentations and visits with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with advancement team to develop a fundraising strategy to support new Program. 
• Travel with the Dean and other faculty leaders to promote and grow new Program. 
• Develop and expand relationships with state governmental leaders to expand access to state resources and engage participants in new Program. 
• Fund new Constitutional History Project to support new database on Florida Constitutional History Database. 
• Engage with federal judges and state high-court judges to grow and expand relationship between the College and the federal and state benches, including to further Program initiatives. 

Designing and developing innovative Program in Law & Government 

• Working collaboratively with College leaders and faculty directors to create template and vision for new Program in Law & Government that participates in and sponsors civic discourse and debate on a broad range of public-law issues
• Supporting the start-up Program initiatives—the State and Local Government Initiative and the Text and History Initiative—to develop short- and long-term agendas, including identifying potential faculty recruitment targets, symposia and programming needs, visiting scholars and judges, and new courses/curricula in relevant fields
• Integrating Program with other campus partners, including the Hamilton Center and the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and identifying new potential campus partners and affiliates

Coordinating, overseeing, and participating in major Program events 

• Coordinating event programing and invitees with Assistant Dean for Strategic Events
• Hosting and engaging with high-profile stakeholders and visitors to College in connection with Program events
• Representing the Program at major events throughout the State and nation, as needed

Perform related duties as required or deemed appropriate to the accomplishment of the responsibilities and functions related to this position.

 
Expected Salary:

$130,000 - 160,000

Minimum Requirements:

Master’s degree in an appropriate area and six years of relevant experience; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and eight years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:
• 7+ years’ experience in fundraising, marketing, or organizational management and development, including in a university setting
• 4+ years’ experience working in legal field or in a legal organization, including experience working with faculty and/or academic programing and organizations. 
• Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic priorities for major college unit and working with key executive leaders to pursue strategic goals. 
• A strong track-record with working with fundraisers and building relationships with government partners and other stakeholders.
• Business acumen and the ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
• Must be an outstanding communicator and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills; interpersonal skills; and the ability to work collegially and interact effectively with others from different backgrounds and viewpoints.
• Proven success working with a variety of different stakeholders with different perspectives and viewpoints; excellent strategic planning and project management skills; experience in a data-driven environment; organizational skills; and the ability to lead, influence and motivate others are required.
• The ability and willingness to travel.*
