As a Talent Acquisition Recruiter, you will play a key role in attracting top talent and ensuring a broad and representative hiring process. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition, you will build strong partnerships with hiring managers, develop creative sourcing strategies, and help shape the future of our workforce. The University of Florida recognizes the value of telecommuting and fostering a flexible work environment; therefore this position is open hybrid work within the Gainesville area.
Recruiting
- Identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
- Meet with hiring authorities to understand hiring needs and overall department business strategy.
- Ensure all hiring activities are in compliance with applicable federal and state employment laws.
- In collaboration with the Strategic Communications, Marketing & Engagement team, create a strategic brand and establish targeted marketing/advertising and communications focused on attracting top talent to UF Advancement including, but not limited to the creation of a recruitment website, a branded UF Advancement sourcing newsletter, and a targeted email campaign ensuring consistency of message and increased awareness in the marketplace.
- Assist in tracking key recruiting metrics and provide reports to leadership.
- Represent UF Advancement at recruiting events (e.g., AAMC conferences, AFP, CASE conferences, UF job fairs), providing company/job information and interviewing applicants.
- Maintain integrity of automated recruiting systems and other staffing information processes.
- Initiate conversations and exploratory meetings with strong potential candidates.
- Maintain and update the Talent Prospect database for accurate candidate tracking.
Sourcing and Acquisition Strategy
- Work with the Talent Acquisition team and hiring managers to analyze hiring requirements, then define, implement and execute ongoing recruiting and sourcing strategies to effectively meet hiring demands.
- Serve as a talent acquisition advisor to hiring authorities, providing guidance on recruitment strategies and employment law.
- Work in close partnership with members of the Talent Acquisition team to ensure a proactively build a strong pipeline of highly qualified candidates are identified for both current and future positions.
- Interact with potential candidates on social media and professional networks (e.g. LinkedIn, Facebook, Indeed, etc.).
- Create targeted marketing campaigns that are innovative and effective in attracting the talent pool needed to fill open positions.
- Stakeholder management including planning/expectation setting, establishment and ongoing assessment of candidate criteria, and detailed sourcing plans.
- Source and recruit highly qualified diverse candidates using innovative techniques and strategies that include, but are not limited to LinkedIn, market research, job boards, referrals, exploratory conversations, social network mediums, and attending or scheduling representatives for networking events.
- Place and update all job postings in various Medias including internet/intranet sites, colleges, social networks, community boards and staffing partners.
- Communicate with managers and employees regularly to promote Employee Referral Program.
- Showcase open position(s) in the weekly Talent Search Spotlight for the Advancement News.
- Assist in conference recruitment and coordination.
- Responsible for building the talent pipeline.
Selection and Hiring
- Support Talent Acquisition team with tools and resources to screen candidates to include reviewing resumes, identifying proper testing, assessments, and selection guidelines/interview templates.
- Assist with the strategy and administrative logistics of all the talent acquisition related committees, with a focus on engaging hiring managers and other key stakeholders.
- Manage the recruitment process professionally and timely, ensuring a positive experience for candidates and hiring departments.
- Evaluate resumes and applications to identify candidates who meet the basic job requirements.
- As needed, assist with initial screening calls: Conduct preliminary phone or zoom interviews to assess candidates' qualifications, experience, and organizational fit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment and hiring activities. Ensure proper documentation is completed for each step of the hiring process.
- Assist in the coordination of campus interviews and actively participate as needed.
- Manage the UF Advancement Search Panel to ensure that each Director-level and above position includes the panel during the final interview stage. Responsibilities include:
- Panel Coordination: Reach out to panel members to determine a quorum of 2-3 available members for each interview.
- Feedback Collection: Ensure accurate and timely feedback from panel members is collected and communicated to the hiring team.
- Meeting Organization: Schedule and facilitate quarterly touch base meetings with the search panel to discuss processes, improvements, and any issues. Organize an annual meeting to review the panel's performance and update membership as needed.
- Membership Management: Maintain and manage the panel's membership, ensuring a diverse and qualified group of members is available for participation.

Expected Salary: |
$65,000 - $70,000; commensurate with education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications: |
The successful candidate will possess:
- Experience in HR administrative support specifically proactive recruitment, talent acquisition processes and interviewing experience.
- Experience in a fundraising organization or similar complex university program in a comparable institution.
- Demonstrated experience with targeted and specialized recruiting, interviewing, and hiring procedures in a multi-operational and multi-disciplinary higher education environment.
- Ability to create and implement sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
- Ability to conceptualize, develop, and utilize innovative marketing materials and resources in support of recruitment and talent management efforts.
- Strong understanding of staffing principles, laws, and procedures and a solid working knowledge of recruitment/employment programs.
- Demonstrated knowledge of various recruiting techniques, and experience in online/social media recruiting.
- Ability to work efficiently with minimum supervision; to exercise independent judgment and personal initiative.
- Strong project management skills with a customer focus.
- Ability to serve as a coach to managers on strategic staffing issues demonstrating confidence, sound judgment, and expertise.
- General business acumen.
- The ability to effectively manage budgeted resources.
