Writing and Editing:
Writes and updates content for a variety of print materials, including fliers and posters. Scouts story opportunities, conducts interviews and background research, and drafts stories about college activities. Writes and formats e-newsletters and other digital communications targeting college audiences. Writes, edits, formats (text and images) and publishes college website updates using WordPress. Assists with creating and maintaining a social media presence for the colleges.
Complies with editing, review, news distribution and identity/ branding policies of UF Health Communications and the university.
Public Relations/Marketing:
Serves as communications liaison for the colleges’ programs to help identify communications needs and develop goals and solutions. Helps advance colleges’ cost-recovery goals by advising programs on communications and marketing resources and strategies. Develops and maintains shared communications tools for colleges’ programs.
Promotes, prepares materials for and arranges the colleges’ seminars and events, as needed. Arranges colleges’ participation in campus and community events.
Responds to inquiries from researchers and other stakeholders. Assembles and/or verifies information for fact-checking, media assists and other communications inquiries in close coordination with UF Health Communications.
Participates in UF Health Communications, college and/or campus initiatives, projects and committees, as appropriate.
Planning and Reporting:
Conducts target audience, background and benchmarking research for the colleges’ communications projects. Develops, implements and updates communications plans for colleges’ initiatives and recurring activities.
Participates in the colleges’ strategic communications planning.
Compiles, analyzes and makes recommendations based on website analytics and other metrics used to track effectiveness of colleges’ communications. Compiles data and materials for colleges’ communications-related reports.
Dissemination and Production:
Develops and implements strategies for disseminating the colleges’ stories, announcements and communications materials to internal and external audiences.
Manages day-to-day activities for colleges’ communications projects. Arranges and facilitates creative services (e.g., graphic design, videography, photography). Facilitates review and approval processes required for colleges’ communications materials.
Updates and creates fliers, posters and other communications materials using colleges’ templates in Adobe and other graphic design programs. Identifies, obtains and/or creates photos and graphics for communications projects. Prints, mounts, delivers and displays fliers, posters and other communications materials.
Administrative Support:
Arranges interviews and meetings for college-related communications projects. Drafts meeting notes and project/ process documentation.
Maintains colleges’ contacts and mailing lists.
Requests, orders, picks up and/or delivers materials or supplies when needed (occasional driving and light physical activity may be required). Organizes and maintains colleges’ communications files.
Completes required trainings.
Other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications: |
Excellent writing, spelling, punctuation and grammatical skills, and knowledge of Associated Press style.
Ability to plan, execute and complete work assignments independently, efficiently and accurately while working as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-profile and multidisciplinary work environment.
Ability to learn and communicate effectively about a variety of technical resources and complex research programs and initiatives.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel; familiarity or experience with WordPress.
Experience with social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, and familiarity with Google Analytics.
Familiarity with the fundamentals of good graphic design. Familiarity with graphic design software programs such as Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.
Familiarity or experience with health care and/or academic research environments.
