Job Description:

The Department of Pediatrics is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Director of Education and Training Programs to lead the Multidisciplinary Diagnostic and Training Program (MDTP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the coordination, planning, tracking and implementing all aspects of the project and grant-related monitoring and reporting requirements, including project tracking data collection and reports. Oversee collection and analyzing data and maintaining program activity databases.
  • Serve as the key liaison between MDTP, schools and other agencies. Work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, community agencies and staff to provide consultation services to parents, teachers, administrators and other school staff to facilitate the educational engagement, learning, skill development, and readiness for post-secondary transition of K-12th grade students with complex needs.
  • Utilize data to assess response to interventions (RtI) within an MTSS framework by analyzing, interpreting, and reporting student data and using student data to assess response to interventions (RtI). Formulate written consultation and evaluation reports with evidence-based recommendations for intervention strategies. Plan and prepare intervention strategies for parents and teachers.  Conduct comprehensive progress monitoring assessments.  Coordinate, develop and/or conduct in-service and pre-service training for educators, related professionals, and parents.

The University of Florida Multidisciplinary Diagnostic and Training Program (UF MDTP) was established in 1983 through a grant through the Florida Department of Education, Bureau of Exceptional Student Education (BESE). It is part of a network of six state-funded, regional FDLRS Multidisciplinary Educational Services Centers in Florida that provide a range of services including diagnostic evaluation and consultation services for children and youth identified as having complex medical, educational, emotional, and/or behavioral problems. UF MDTP also provides consultations, technical assistance, and pre-service and in-service training for parents, teachers, other school and district personnel, and related providers and professionals.

Expected Salary:

$100,000 - $104,000; commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Educator Professional Certification(s) from the State of Florida Department of Education.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with a broad range of standardized psychological, language, and academic assessment measures and evidence-based interventions for K-12 students with learning, neurocognitive, and related difficulties impacting school functioning and academic progress.
  • Strong working knowledge of Florida’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and proficiency in analyzing, accurately interpreting, and reporting student data.
  • Active School Psychology or Psychology Licensure from the Florida Department of Health.
  • Five years experience in exceptional student education.
