UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking a talented and highly motivated, part-time Web Migration Specialist Intern to join Academic Technology – Web Services, for Summer and Fall semester. Our goal is to excel in customer service while supporting UF's mission of teaching, learning, and research. Websites we manage include the UF homepage, in addition to other mission-critical websites. We strive to maintain the high-quality web presence of the University of Florida, one reflective of a flagship university.
Job Description:
The key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are:
- Migrate websites into web content management system
- Assist web designers and developers to architect and build visually appealing websites
- Use web accessibility tools to ensure sites meet accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Ability to deliver quality customer service
Some key learning outcomes for the student intern are:
- Demonstrate openness, sensitivity, and the ability to interact respectfully with all people and understand individuals’ differences to communicate complicated or technical ideas to a broad group of people
- Learn and analyze web content to create websites that are ADA compliant
- Construct websites in web content management systems using HTML and CSS
- Develop an understanding of career field of interest, including the skills, responsibilities, and career trajectory of professionals; specifically, by creating and editing web content
